What is a standalone camera?

Standalone CCTV cameras are the cameras that works itself. Does not need other devices like DVR and HDD for storage and connectivity. Only power connection is required. It can be installed and operated using a smart phone by installing its application. It’s easy to use and cost saving. But also has limitations.

  2. Monitoring depends on network service provider’s network connectivity and internet speed in that locality. Uploading bandwidth matters for CCTV cameras.
  3. non-4G cameras requires Wi-Fi for installation.
  4. Continuous monitoring is practically impossible.
  5. Safeguarding the recording is a task- The recording is stored on a memory card, so if the camera is damaged or is stolen, there is no backup of recording.
  6. Depending upon the brand and software, resetting the preset camera may be difficult for an amateur.
